The mission of the CTE department at Lincoln County
High School is to ready our students for effective participation
in an international economy. Whether students plan to further their
education in community colleges, universities, technical schools,
or receive on-the-job training, our CTE program can be the first
step toward productive employment and citizenship.
The CTE program at Lincoln County High School encompasses
a variety of skills, as well as including basic writing, mathematical,
and reading skills. The program includes Agriculture, Health Science,
Family & Consumer Sciences, Business Technology, Welding, Machining,
Drafting, Electricity, Collision Repair, and Auto Mechanics. Contextual
Academics courses include Biology for Technology and Technical Geometry.
Several programs provide the opportunity for students
to become certified in a specific trade or career area. For example,
students taking the Auto Mechanics program of study can test for
certification through NATEF (National Automotive Technicians Education
Foundation) and students taking the Health Sciences program of study
can test to be a Certified Nursing Assistant.
The Career & Technical Student Organizations
provide opportunities for students to excel in public speaking,
develop and perfect organizational skills, as well as compete nationally.
The organizations are FFA (Future Farmers of
America), HOSA (Health Occupations Students
of America), FCCLA (Family Career &
Community Leaders of America), SkillsUSA
(Trade & Industry), and FBLA (Future
Business Leaders of America). The Lincoln County High School
chapters of these organizations have competed at the regional, state,
and national level.
